21 July 2001 - Susana Feitor set a new world best performance at 20000 meters walk, on track, with a performance of 1:29:36.4, on Saturday in Lisbon, in the same stadium used for the World Junior Championships in 1994, during the Portugal Championships.
Susana Feitor (with 44:38.47 at 10000 metres) lead all the event, which was contested also by Sofia Avoila (1:33:58.1) and Vera Santos (1:36:41.7).
Avoila also bettered the previous world best (1:35:23.7) of Cristina Saltanovic (LIT) made last year (August, 3) in Kaunas.
Friday was the last day at altitude for Susana Feitor and she broke the record after 700 km by car (between Granada and Lisbon).
Carlos Calado won the long jump with 8.10 (wind: +2.8 m/s, 7.98 legal); Rui Silva (3:40.05) and Carla Sacramento (4:15.98) won the 1500 m 24 hours after their presence in Monaco.
