There are four major events in 2020:

• World Athletics Indoor Championships Nanjing 2020 (13-15 March)
• World Athletics Half Marathon Championships Gdynia 2020 (29 March)
• World Athletics Race Walking Team Championships Minsk 2020 (2-3 May)
• World Athletics U20 Championships Nairobi 2020 (7-12 July)

There are two major events in 2021:

• World Athletics Cross Country Championships Bathurst 2021 (20 March)
• World Athletics Championships Oregon21 (6-15 August)
