But it’s not just the half-lap event the Jamaican sprint star is known for – demonstrating her versatility, she’s also a multiple world and Olympic medallist in the 100m and 400m, with a total of 16 global medals to her name.

They include four world golds, the most recent of which she claimed at the World Athletics Championships Budapest 23. There, the 29-year-old retained her 200m title, stopping the clock in 21.41 to miss the world record set by Florence Griffith Joyner in 1988 by just 0.07.

Prior to that, Jackson had become the first athlete in history to win a full set of World Championships medals across three sprint disciplines when she claimed 100m silver and 200m gold at the World Athletics Championships Oregon22 to go with her 400m bronze medals from 2019 and 2015. In Budapest, she secured a medal treble, gaining another 100m silver plus a 4x100m medal of the same colour. She also has five Olympic medals – in the 100m, 400m, 4x100m and 4x400m.

"It feels good that even though I used to run 400m, I can still do a very good 100m and 200m,” Jackson said after her most recent world 200m title win. “I feel like I am a living testimony that you can create something if you really want it and never give up.”
