MonteCarlo The IAAF is pleased to announce that following a ground-breaking, cooperative effort between the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), Dentsu Inc., USA Track & Field (USATF) and the World Championships Sports Network (WCSN), athletics’ fans in the United States will have the opportunity to watch unprecedented coverage of the 2005 World Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

In total, more than 70 hours of event broadcast coverage will be available to US fans via national broadcast on the PAX national television network, Comcast Regional Sports Network (RSN), and online.

“On behalf of the IAAF, it gives me great pleasure to welcome this new agreement, which reinforces our long term strategic plan to raise the profile of the IAAF World Championships in the USA,” said IAAF President Lamine Diack. “In co-operation with our partners, the IAAF has worked very hard to ensure that the coverage provided on PAX and other outlets will provide athletics fans with live and comprehensive coverage of the world’s most important athletics event.”

Webcast Breakthrough

Fifty-plus hours of live coverage will also be webcast on a pay-per-view basis at www.wcsn.com, the Web site of the World Championship Sports Network (WCSN), with the site to launch in late July. All material on wcsn.com will be archived, so fans can view the action from Helsinki at any time – including live, during the World Championships from August 6-14.
