17 October 2000 - Jenny and Susanna Kallur from Sweden who are both competing in the 100m hurdles clocked the two fastest times of this morning's first round.
In heat four, Jenny - the slower of the two clocked a personal best of 13.18, while Susanna won heat six in 13.13.
Susanna who is the fastest in the world this year after setting a personal best of 13.07 in September looked very powerful over the hurdles. "I dont think I am the favourite but I will definitely go for gold", she declared.
A little less powerful and with longer hair Jenny was all smiles after her race.
"I am very happy I have set my personal best this morning. It is very hot here, maybe too hot. I hope tomorrow afternoon it will be cooler," Jenny said.
Kallur twins who live in Falun, in the centre of Sweden both quit school in June and decided to take a year off to concentrate on athletics. Both will be members of the Swedish 4x100m relay team. Jenny will run the second leg and pass the baton to her twin sister in third leg.
Jenny and Susanna use a different lead leg over the hurdles: Susanna uses her left while Jenny prefers her right!
