While primarily a cycling venue the World Cycling Centre in Aigle, Switzerland, has been designed in collaboration with the Swiss Federation to provide the country with its first indoor athletics track (252m), which by providing indoor training facilities is hoped will revolutionise the sport in the country.
Jacky Delapierre, the Director of the Lausanne IAAF Super Grand Prix meet 'Athletissima' and Vice President of the Swiss Federation, one of the motivating forces behind the project will see the new facility officially opened this Friday (28 Jan).
