time Olympian Suzy Favor Hamilton announced yesterday on her website that she is pregnant.
"Mark and Suzy Hamilton are pleased to announce that Suzy is pregnant and is expecting their first child on October 30," read a statement on her website, suzyfavorhamilton.com. "Suzy will skip the 2005 outdoor season," the statement continued, "No decision has been made about her future racing plans."
Favor Hamilton, 36, has personal best times of 1:58.66 for 800m, 3:57.40 for 1500m, 4:22.93 for the mile and 8:46.16 for 3000m. She failed to make the U.S. Olympic team last year when she chose not to start the 1500m final at the U.S. Olympic Trials and Carrie Tollefson, the Trials winner, went on to achieve the Olympic Games "B" standard after the Trials and took the only U.S. team spot for that discipline in Athens.
