27 December 2000 - Moscow - Olympic champion Irina Privalova has been chosen Russia's Athlete of the Year by the country's federation of sports journalists, federation president Igor Maslennikov said.
Privalova, 31, the former world and European sprint champion, won the 400 metres hurdles in Sydney after just eight races over the distance in her career.
