2004 World Athlete of the Year, Kenenisa Bekele of Ethiopia donated the national vest he wore when taking his first track global title in Paris 2003 last summer.

Four-time World Cross Country double champion, Bekele handed his precious vest to the IAAF in Paris on the eve of opening leg of the Golden League circuit where he set the fourth all-time best performance at 5000m.

"I am happy to give this to the IAAF for a good cause," said Bekele.

Arguably the best cross-country runner ever and the most promising long distance specialist of the 21st century, Bekele is also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Orphans and Vulnerable Children.

Bekele’s autographed vest will be auctioned at the end of the season and all profits made will be donated to the United Nations Associations: FAO, UNICEF and WFP.
