Hello everybody,
I am currently in Oslo where I will run the first of the Golden League meetings. I flew directly from California where the US nationals took place last week and arrived yesterday at around 6:00pm and as you can imagine I feel very tired.
But this is life, I just have to get over the tiredness. I’ve already had a lot of physio done and I feel a lot better now, ready to run again.
Last week was awesome for me. Finally the hard work that I have been putting into the sport is paying off. The times I ran are amazing (ed: 10.93 at 100m world leading time and 22.21 at 200m). Winning felt so good and especially in the 200m after having run 5 rounds!
I don’t consider myself as the number one in the world though. I just think my start of the season is a success and I hope the good results will keep up.
I will obviously try and go for the Golden League Jackpot, but most importantly I will try and run at my very best in the World Championships.
You know things are so much different now that I have won at the US championships. I get so much more attention, sometimes it is a little bit too overwhelming to see pictures of my races in all the newspapers but at the same time it’s pleasant.
I’d rather be in the position I’m in right now than last year when I wasn’t doing so well. I am still the same old Kelli though! The one that never stops talking…
People often ask me if I prefer the 100m or the 200m and as I’ve always said my favourite distance is definitely the 200m. It’s so much more fun. I’m still just learning how to run the 100m even though I have improved a lot on my start and finish of the race.
In previous years, I used to base myself in Germany with my boyfriend Boris Henry during the summer season but this year we will stay in London with Dwain Chambers, my new training partner in California. I really looking forward to the London experience, it should be great fun.
For those of you who like the gossip, Boris and I are still doing great. Our relationship is fantastic even if it has been a month now since we last saw each other.
You can imagine how expensive my telephone bills are! When the bills come I just pay them without even checking the amount, I just couldn’t bear knowing the amount of money I spend on the phone!!
I am now off to training after which I will finally see Boris again. Look out for us both tomorrow night on the track and in the infield
Talk to you next week
Kelli
