Formanova and Kratochvilova finish streets ahead
Two new streets in the small town of Caslav, in Central Bohemia, will be named after two World Champion athletes: Ludmila Formanova and Jarmila Kratochvilova.
A representative of the mayors office said that the town, which is 70km east of Prague, has decided to "honour its most famous compatriots."
25 year-old Formanova won gold in the 800m at both the 1999 World Indoor Championships in Maebashi, Japan, and the outdoor World Championships in Seville, Spain.
48 year-old Kratochvilova, who scored a remarkable 400m and 800m double at the inaugural World Championships in 1983, still holds the 800m world record with 1:53.28. Kratochvilova is also Formanovas current coach.
