The highlight of 59th Slovak National Championships (1 - 2 July) held for the first time in city of Trnava (western part of the country) was the women's Hammer Throw show put on by Martina Danisova.
The 23-year-old had only once before broken the 70 metres barrier before this weekend but on Saturday in Trnava it happened four times and already the first one was a massive improvement of her own national record 70.97m (in May in Kladno, CZE). Her next three throws followed again with 70m plus results.
“I felt in shape during training before the championships where I was able to throw over 70 metres, so I hoped to make it also here. I am healthy and that is the most important thing,” said Danisova.
