Campbell and Bolt win 200m titles – Jamaican Championships

Olympic gold medallist Veronica Campbell won the 200 metres with a time of 22.53 at the final day of the Jamaican national track and field championships on Sunday (26 June) in Kingston, Jamaica.

Campbell beat Sheree-Ann Brooks (22.50) and Aileen Bailey (23.00) and will run in both the 200 and 100 at the World Championships in Helsinki, Finland, in August (6 – 14).

Usain Bolt, the World Junior record holder for the men’s 200m, won that event easily in 20.27 seconds, ahead of Christopher Williams (20.36) and Omar Brown (20.49).

Delloreen Ennis-London and Brigitte Foster-Hilton tied in the women’s 100m Hurdles, finishing in 12.60 seconds to qualify for Helsinki along with third-place finisher Vonette Dixon (12.67).

James Beckford won the men's Long Jump with a leap of 7.91m.
