An Egyptian first! World Junior Records ratified

MonteCarlo  Standing out among the latest batch of World Junior Records to be ratified by the IAAF is the 65.88m performance of 19 year-old Discus thrower Omar Ahmed El-Ghazaly, who becomes the first Egyptian to establish an athletics World Record of any kind.

Since taking tenth place at the IAAF World Junior championships in 2002, El-Ghazaly has won the senior All-Africa Games title in Abuja, Nigeria on 13 October 2003, and later took the bronze at the inaugural Afro-Asian Games in Hyderabad, India on 29 October last year.
