The Oceania Athletics Association Election Congress was conducted at Tweed Heads on Australia’s Gold Coast on Friday (6).
President Geoff Gardner (NFI) was unanimously re-elected unopposed to the president's position for a third term.
Returning to the OAA Council for a further term were Trevor Spittle (NZL) as vice president, Titaua Juventin (PYF) as treasurer and Robin Sapong-Eugenio (NMI) council member.
The 20 member federations of the Oceania Area Association also elected three new council members: Jay Antonio (GUM), Peoria Koshiba (PLW) and Matthew Mahon (AUS).
Geoff Gardner also thanked retiring council members Albert Miller (FIJ) and Jim Tobin (FSM) for their support during the past four years of Council.
The Congress was attended by IAAF vice president Sebastian Coe and IAAF council members Ahmad Al Kamali and Du Zhaocai as well as IAAF general secretary Essar Gabriel.
The OAA Congress was followed by a three-day regional development marketing seminar which was attended by all 20 member federations.

Congrès électoral de l'Association d'athlétisme d'Océanie (OAA) s'est
tenu à Tweed Heads, à proximité de Gold Coast, ce vendredi (6).
En l'absence de tout autre candidat, le président sortant, Geoff Gardner (NFI) a été réélu à l'unanimité pour un troisième mandat présidentiel.
Réélus au Conseil de l'OAA pour un nouveau mandat étaient Trevor Spittle (NZL) en qualité de vice-président, Titaua Juventin (PYF), trésorier, et Robin Sapong-Eugenio (NMI), membre du Conseil.
Les 20 Fédérations membres de l'OAA ont également élu trois nouveaux membres du Conseil: Jay Antonio (GUM), Peoria Koshiba (PLW) et Matthew Mahon (AUS).
Geoff Gardner a également remercié les membres du Conseil sortants, Albert Miller (FIJ) et Jim Tobin (FSM), pour leur soutien au cours des quatre dernières années du Conseil.
Présents au Congrès étaient notamment le vice-président de l'IAAF, Sebastian Coe, et les membres du Conseil de l'IAAF, Ahmad Al Kamali et Du Zhaocai, ainsi que le secrétaire général de l'IAAF, Essar Gabriel.
Le Congrès de l'OAA a été suivi d'un séminaire de Marketing du développement régional, auquel étaient présents l'ensemble des vingt Fédérations membres.
