This Privacy Policy relates to our use of any personal information you provide to us whether through the World Athletics website or through attending our events (for example by purchasing a ticket or merchandise, participating in mass participation race, or taking part in one of our competitions).

2. What type of personal information is collected?
When you use World Athletics' website, such as a sign up to a newsletter, purchase a ticket, sign-up for mass participation or enter a competition, we will ask for personal information for that activity. For ticket or merchandise purchases or sign-up to mass participation events at our World Athletics' competitions these are arrange, organised by or on behalf of the local organisers for the World Athletics competition and they will share personal information with us. 3. How will the information be used?
To send you the information or create an account that you have registered or signed up for. If you have opted into receiving information about upcoming events, offers and news from us or our Official Partners then you will receive information either from us or our Official Partners. 4. Where will the information be stored?
Information that we collect from you may be transferred and stored outside of Monaco for the purposes of providing the services under the website to you. Our website is hosting on servers located within Europe and where you provide your personal information we have set out below where servers located that host this information. By submitting your personal information, you consent to this transfer, storing or processing.
We will always take all reasonable precautions to make sure that your data remains secure, handled in accordance with this Privacy Policy and has the same legal protection as it would have if it remained in Monaco.

World Athletics Series Event Organisers
If you register or sign up to receive information on our event specific web pages then an event specific privacy policy will be available from the privacy policies page of the website. World Athletics may share or provide access to the marketing database to World Athletics Series Event Organisers for purposed of promotion of the event, ticket or merchandise sales and if applicable, entry into any mass participation activities and fan engagement activities held during the event.
Event Calendar Scheduling
Our service provider for the providing calendar marketing software services is ECAL Marketing Ltd (hereinafter referred to as ECAL) of 10 John Street, London WC1N 2EB UNITED KINGDOM. (https://www.ecal.com) . ECal uses Amazon Web Services and Snowflake services on hosting located in the USA to process personal data. Can I find out what personal information World Athletics holds on me?
Yes. You have the right to request a copy of the personal information that World Athletics holds about you. There will be an administration fee associated with this request and we will require two pieces of identification to prove your identity.

The right to object

- Right to erasure: you have the right to ask to erase your personal information in some circumstances, including where the information held by World Athletics is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it is processed, you withdraw your consent to its use, or we can no longer lawfully process the data. However, if you do exercise this right during the accreditation process then it will make providing the basis for you to participate in events difficult.
- Right to restriction of processing: you can restrict our processing of your data in some circumstances. This applies where, for example, if you contest the accuracy of the personal data we use or object to us using the information based on a 'legitimate interest' (see part 1, above (the right to object)). Please note that where you ask us to restrict processing, we can still store it subject to the retention period, and use it to establish or defend legal claims, which may run beyond the retention period stated.
- Right to data portability: This permits you to receive from World Athletics a copy of your personal information in an electronic file or format that commonly be used on different devices and machines, and to transfer your personal data from World Athletics to another data controller or have the data transmitted directly between two data controllers.
- Right to object to automatic processing: you have the right not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing which significantly affect them (at time of writing, World Athletics does not process your personal data on its systems for the purposes of making decisions based on automatic processing).
