Event previews – IAAF World Indoor Championships Portland 2016

With three days to go before the start of the IAAF World Indoor Championships Portland 2016, which starts on Thrusday (17) and takes place from 17-20 March, previews for each event have been published.

Official start lists will not begin to become available until after the technical meeting on Thursday 17 March (1130 local time) but the final entry lists can now be downloaded (see 'related documents' on the right-hand side of this page).

No fewer than 148 nations will be represented at the IAAF World Indoor Championships Portland 2016, with 547 athletes (299 men and 148 women) entered. The final number of athletes competing at the championships will be slightly smaller than this number as a few nations have entered reserves in some events.
