Poland’s prodigiously talented teenage shot putter Konrad Bukowiecki set a world junior indoor record* of 22.38m on home soil in Torun on Saturday (24).

Bukowiecki’s full series with the 6kg implement was: 20.87m, 20.50m, 20.59m, 21.40m, 22.38m, foul.

The previous world junior indoor record was 22.35m by Germany's David Storl in Rochlitz, Germany, on 20 December 2009.

Bukowiecki won the 2014 world junior shot put title but was born on 17 March 1997 and so is still only 17, and will be eligible to compete as a junior in 2016 as well.
