Britain’s Morgan Lake has the best mark of all the entrants this year with a 1.93m clearance, but she is only entered in the high jump as a back-up; her main priority is the heptathlon.
In the absence of Australia’s world youth champion Eleanor Patterson, who recently jumped 1.94m but will be focusing on the Commonwealth Games this summer, the next best entrant is Ukraine’s Iryna Gerashchenko.
The world youth silver medallist has jumped 1.92m outdoors this year, but was even better indoors, clearing 1.95m.
Russia’s Irina Ilieva, a 1.90m jumper at best, could be another contender.
