Legendary javelin thrower Jan Zelezny has changed his plans for his first appearance of the season 2003. He will compete already on Saturday 24 May in Halle, Germany at the "Hallesche Werfertage" throwing international meeting.

This will be his first appearance at this event.

"After the return from South Africa my training went well at home. I had some good sessions. I am feeling much better than in last year. But, we will see. I wanted to test my shape before the Ostrava Super GP Meet which is the only one I will do in Czech republic this year," said Zelezny.

His competition schedule after Ostrava (12 June) is not yet fixed, but he has invitations from the IAAF Golden League meetings as javelin is one of the golden events in 2003.

In Halle his main competiiton will come from the leading German throwers Boris Henry and Raymond Hecht.

Meanwhile, decathlon world record holder Roman Sebrle is preparing for his annual big event, the Austrian multi-events meeting in Götzis (May 31-June 1), very carefully. He even did not travelled with his club Dukla Praha to the weekend´s European Clubs Cup in Valencia. Instead he will test himself at the Praha City Championships on Saturday in the 110H and Long Jump.

On Sunday Sebrle will fly to Vienna to take part in Austrian TV ORF Sports show "Sport am Sonntag", where he will be the guest in connection with the event.

In 2001 he was able to set in Götzis the historical barrier breaking world record 9026, this year he is also feeling in excellent shape.
