Turkey announces team for IAAF/Westel World Youth Championships
8 July 2001 - Istanbul -The Turkish Federation has announced the team chosen to represent Turkey at the IAAF/Westel World Youth Championships in Athletics taking place in Debrecen, Hungary, from 12-15 July.

The team:
Men:
Serhat Polat 800 m. (1:54.48) 7th in the Turkish list
Selahattin Cobanoglu 800 m (1:55.99) 14th in the Turkish List
Ozan Demir HJ (1.97) 7th in the Turkish list
Recep Salih Durmus TJ (15.02) Turkish Youth record holder 6th in the Turkish list
Women:
Burcu Senturk 100-200 (12.31-25.48) has wind aided SB of 12.08 and 24.68 5th and 4th in the Turkish List respectively
Meryem Kilinc 800-1500 (2:12.60-4:34.69) 5th and 6th in the Turkish list respectively
Turkan Erismis 3000 (9:35.62) 4 th in the Turkish List
Serpil Kocak (400 m hurdles-HJ-Heptathlon) 1:03.55-1.73-4218 -(4th,2nd and 1st in the Turkish list Respectively)
