Czech High Jump Series announced

FacebookTwitterEmail

This year there is no other country in the world of athletics which can list three high jumpers with bests of 2.33m or more. Only the Czech Republic can make that claim.

In such a climate of success it is not surprising that an Indoor High Jump series of meetings has been launched in the country.

All three Czech jumping aces, Olympic bronze medallist Jaroslav Baba, Svatoslav Ton and Tomas Janku, flew this week to Grand Canaria for a training camp, and have confirmed they will compete in the "Moravian High Jump Tour” which will start on 22 January in Hustopece (near Brno) with 6th annual of 'Hustopecske skakani'.

All three meetings will have music supporting the jumpers, with Czech Television having already agreed to broadcast a summary of the Tour on 2 February. Women's competitions and junior and youth events will be held at all three meetings.

Of course all three Czech jumpers are aiming to be in top shape for the European Indoor Championships in Madrid. Janku is also thinking about trying the Heptathlon seriously.
