The Association of Athletics Managers (AAM) held its annual meeting in Santa Domingo, Dominican Republic, over three days ending on 9 November 2006.
The AAM, which constitutes a group of 30 athletes representatives, was established in 2004 to help develop and grow athletics (track and field) and the athletics community through improved representation.
At the conclusion of its annual meeting, the AAM announced that it will institute an athlete evaluation of meets. Also, in an effort to create more opportunities for developing athletes, the AAM has agreed to support and assist a new circuit of developmental meets in Europe. Details are still to be determined.
Congratulations from the AAM were extended to Rajne Soderberg, director of the DN Galan meeting in Stockholm, on his recent election as the new president of Euromeetings, an organization of the one-day athletics meetings in Europe. The AAM Board of Directors has agreed with the Euromeetings Board of Directors to organize a joint Working Group.
