After the success of its half marathon event held barely four weeks ago, when Kenya’s Abraham Cheroben ran the fastest time in the world this year, the Mediterranean city of Valencia stages its highly regarded marathon, an IAAF Silver Label Road race, on Sunday (15).
Souad Ait Salem and Jacob Cheshari won the 25th edition of the HAJ Hannover Marathon on Sunday (19). Defending champion Salem clocked 2:27:21, the second-fastest women’s time ever at the IAAF Silver Label Road Race, while Cheshari won a close men’s contest in 2:09:32.

Benjamin Kiptoo will head the men’s field at the 2015 HAJ Marathon Hannover on 19 April, while defending women’s champion Souad Ait Salem will return, organisers for the IAAF Silver Label Road Race announced on Thursday (12).
Henry Chirchir won a thrilling sprint finish at the 2014 TUI Marathon Hannover, an IAAF Silver Label Road Race, to win in 2:11:30 on Sunday (27).
Seven men with personal bests of below 2:10 will compete in the TUI Marathon Hannover but it will be former champion Evans Ruto, of Kenya, who will start as the favourite for the IAAF Silver Label Road Race on Sunday.
Kenya’s Evans Kipkosgei Ruto will return to the TUI Marathon Hannover on 27 April to take on Ethiopia’s Mekuant Ayenew at the IAAF Silver Label Road Race.
