The 2015 world champions have been crowned and the Diamond Race contests settled but athletics fans have one final feast of running, jumping and throwing to enjoy at the 39th edition of the Decastar combined-events meeting in Talence, a suburb of the French city of Bordeaux, on Saturday and Sunday (19-20).
The host crowd had to wait until the final race on the track to celebrate their only gold medal of the day at the Pan American Games in Toronto on Thursday (23).
Grenada’s Kurt Felix leads from defending champion Yordanis Garcia in the decathlon at the NACAC Capital Cup Combined Events Invitational, while two-time winner Yorgelis Rodriguez shares the heptathlon lead with Nigeria’s Uhunoma Osazuwa at the IAAF Combined Events Challenge meeting in Ottawa.
