Registrations are now open for the Global Running Conference 2026, taking place on 17–18 September 2026 in Copenhagen, Denmark, alongside the World Athletics Road Running Championships 2026.

 

Bringing together Federations, race organisers, host cities, media and brands, the conference is intended as a global platform to exchange ideas and explore the future of road running and mass participation events.
Participation landscapes are evolving rapidly. Expectations from cities and communities are rising. Sustainability and long-term impact are now essential pillars of event delivery. Tech is reshaping how people connect with running.
 
Against this backdrop, the Global Running Conference will explore one central question: How do we ensure road running remains relevant, socially valuable and commercially viable in the years ahead?
 
The Conference will kick off with an official reception at the Copenhagen City Hall, followed by race management workshops on Thursday, 17 September.
On Friday, 18 September, guests will meet at Axelborg Hall for a full day of keynotes and round tables with key actors from the running industry.
 
 
Topics will include:
  • Global participation trends and emerging market insights
  • How mass participation events can drive measurable sustainability and long-term impact
  • Turning sustainability commitments into concrete operational action
  • How major races can strengthen local clubs and grow structured membership
  • Case studies from leading mass participation events worldwide
  • Strategic collaboration between federations, cities, organisers and commercial partners
