On the basis of information recently received, the IAAF can confirm that Yamile Aldama, ranked number 2 in the 2003 IAAF World Rankings at Triple Jump, is eligible to compete for Sudan in all international competitions.
Ms Aldama last represented her country of birth, Cuba, at the Sydney Olympic Games on 24 September 2000, finishing fourth in the Triple Jump final with 14.30m. Therefore, according to IAAF Rule 5.2c, her eligibility for Sudan can be enforced with immediate effect.
The IAAF would like to take this opportunity to wish Ms Aldama the best of luck with her future career.
