“Traffie”, Official Mascot of Osaka 2007 makes debut

Osaka, Japan“Traffie” made its debut in the public on July 7, 2006 at Osaka, the host city of the 11th IAAF World Championships in Athletics. 

“Traffie” was unveiled as official Mascot of Osaka 2007 on May 22, 2006 by the Local Organising Committee Osaka 2007, but it has been missing in the public after the event, a and since “Traffie” has been working as part of a voluntary training programme for a month since then.

On its debut day, “Traffie” visited the Osaka City Office. There Junichi SEKI, Mayor of Osaka, and other staff welcomed and celebrated the mascot's debut with applause. “Traffie” will become familiar to citizens with various appearances in various places in Osaka till September 2007.
