After withdrawing from last weekend’s Jamaican Championships with a hamstring injury, Usain Bolt has confirmed that he will be fit to compete in the 200m at the Müller Anniversary Games on Friday 22 July. Meanwhile, organisers of the IAAF Diamond League meeting in London have added three more top sprinters to the field.
The world record holder will face his Jamaican teammate Nickel Ashmeade, who finished second in both the 100m and the 200m at the recent Jamaican Championships, two-time Diamond Race winner Alonso Edward of Panama, and 2011 world bronze medallist Christophe Lemaitre of France.
Britain’s 2014 European 200m champion Adam Gemili will also be in the field along with Nethaneel Mitchell-Blake, the second-fastest Briton of all time with a personal best of 19.95.
