Guevara back to full training after injury

Mexico's 400 metres star Ana Guevara has returned to full training after recovering from a Achilles tendon injury.

The 27-year-old, who took gold at last year's World Championships in Paris, is ranked as the firm favourite to make it a double at the Athens Olympics later this year.

But her preparations were hit by a niggling injury, one which she hopes is now behind her.

"It was just a patch in my preparation, I never felt I could lose the season, or that my participation in the Olympic Games was in serious risk," she said.

"I just have to get used to this situation and modify my plans a bit."

Guevara's coach, Raul Barreda, echoed his pupil's comments, insisting: "We have time to get her ready, but the time in which to do so is shorter."
