World 800m silver medallist Kelly Holmes will be an ever-present at this summer's major UK track meets as she plots her route to Olympic success in Athens.

Britain's biggest medal winner of recent times has committed to all four of UK Athletics' televised events, starting with the Norwich Union British Grand Prix - IAAF Super Grand Prix - at Gateshead on June 27.

Holmes will then look to rubber-stamp her Olympic qualification at the Trials & AAAs in Manchester on July 10 and 11 before finalising her Athens preparations at the Norwich Union International in Birmingham on July 25 and the Norwich Union London Grand Prix - IAAF Super GRand Prix - on July 30.

She said: "It's always nice to run in Britain when you can, and in my build up to Athens I need to make sure that everything is just right to ensure I arrive at the Olympics in the very best shape.

"The UK meetings always have an excellent field in them and naturally it is great to have the support of family and friends.

"I genuinely believe that the UKA domestic season will be the springboard that makes sure I perform to the best of my abilities in Athens."

Holmes will compete in her planned Olympic distance of 1500m in Gateshead, although has yet to decide between the metric mile and 800m for the other British dates.
