Bernard LAGAT USA
The key was to make it into the finals. I'm glad I did it. Now let me go and have a rest, I need to save as much energy as I can. Of course there was no celebration after yesterday, but I did not have a good sleep, the film about the 1500m final was running in my head.

Eliud KIPCHOGE KEN
I just pray to God to keep my body healthy. I expect a tactical race in the final because no one wants to lead but just stay behind.

Abraham CHERKOS ETH
The race was very good, easier than I expected. I was concerned about the heat and the competition, but it was not as I feared.

Tariku BEKELE ETH
The competition was quite tough, but I'm looking forward to the final.

Adam GOUCHER USA
I'm upset with myself because I made a tactical error. I thought with one lap to go that we were finishing, and when the bell started ringing, it totally knocked the wind out of my sails. And then I had to recoup and watch people go by. But I made it fine. [On his wife Kara's Osaka 10,000m medal:] It's a complete and total inspiration.

Mohammed FARAH GBR
I knew the first heat was a bit slower than our heat. My aim was to save myself a little bit. That extra second can make a difference Sunday. I personally think the final will be fast.
