World indoor champion Grant Holloway has been confirmed for the 60m hurdles at the Birmingham World Indoor Tour Final on 25 February.

The 2022 indoor season was another huge success for US star Holloway as he equalled his own world indoor record of 7.29, a mark he first achieved when improving Colin Jackson’s long-standing world record at the World Indoor Tour meeting in Madrid in 2021.

Holloway clocked 7.29 for the second time during the semifinals of the World Athletics Indoor Championships Belgrade 22 and he went on to win the world title, adding that global gold medal to his two world 110m hurdles titles and Olympic silver medal.

In a clash of world indoor gold medallists, Holloway will face 2018 60m hurdles champion Andrew Pozzi in Birmingham. The British athlete finished second to Holloway at last year’s World Indoor Tour event and he has strong history at the venue as it is where he sealed his world title win five years ago.

“My 2022 season was one to remember and the 60m hurdles world record was a very special achievement for me,” said Holloway.

“I really enjoyed competing in Birmingham last year, and it was amazing to win in front of such a loud and respectful crowd. I am really looking forward to competing in that atmosphere in February at the Birmingham World Indoor Tour Final. The hurdles is always a must-watch race, so this one will not disappoint and we look forward to putting on a show.”
