Beatrice Chebet is a Kenyan long-distance runner who was born on March 5, 2000. In 2018, she won the World Under-20 5,000m and the World Cross-Country Championship, and in 2019, she won the World Cross-Country Championship. Chebet won the Kenyan Under-20s 5000m in June 2018 at the age of 18. She became the first Kenyan woman to win the 5000m title at the World U20 Championships a month later, and the first non-Ethiopian to do it since 2006. The top three finishers in the Women's U20 category at the 2019 IAAF World Cross Country Championships – Chebet and the Ethiopian combination of Alemitu Tariku and Tsigie Gebreselama – were all granted a time of 20:50 as they finished together. Tariku was initially declared the champion, with Gebreselama receiving a silver medal. Chebet was, however, rightly given the gold after the picture finish footage was examined. She won Kenya's U20 National Cross Country Championships in 2019. She trains at Kericho County's Londiani.

Beatrice Chebet, a twenty-one-year-old Kenyan, dominated a field of world-class athletes to win the women's 3,000 meters in the quickest time of the year in the second Wanda Diamond League meeting of the season in Doha. Margaret Chelimo Kipkemboi, the world 5,000m silver medalist, finished second in 8:28.27, with compatriot Hellen Obiri, the world champion and Olympic silver medalist in the 5,000m, finishing fourth in 8:33.98 after faltering during the final lap. During the national trials, held June 17-19 at Kasarani Stadium, world under-20 5000m champion Beatrice Chebet voiced her desire to make Kenya's Olympic team. Chebet was one of 18 athletes selected to compete in the 5000m finals for one of three available spots. After demolishing a strong field in the 3000m at the Doha Diamond League on May 28, she had a fantastic start to her season. She set a world record with a time of 8:27.49. “It was my first Diamond League victory. It was something I hadn't expected, especially given the experienced field I was in. Chebet said , "My goal was to set a new personal best." Chebet shattered the 5000m meeting record at the Montreuil meeting in France four days later, clocking 14:52.06. “I can only credit this to a fantastic preseason. “As a junior to senior athlete, I am quite pleased with my improvement thus far,” she remarked.
