The Wanda Diamond League will adopt a new prize money structure from 2025, with larger rewards on offer for individual athletes across the track and field disciplines.

Under the new structure, there will be a significant increase in the top prizes available, while more prize money will now also be awarded to lower-finishing competitors.

In most Diamond Disciplines, individual athletes will continue to win up to US$10,000 at series meetings and up to US$30,000 at the Wanda Diamond League Final.

From 2025, there will also be a select number of Diamond+ Disciplines, in which athletes can earn higher prize money. In these disciplines, the maximum prize money for individual athletes will rise to US$20,000 at series meetings and US$50,000 at the Final.

There will be four (two male and two female) Diamond+ Disciplines at each series meeting and eight (four male and four female) at the Final. Each meeting will announce their Diamond+ Disciplines in the first half of 2025.

In all disciplines, prize money will also increase – and in some cases double – for athletes finishing lower than second.

Athletes finishing between ninth and 12th will now also receive fixed prize money in all disciplines (both track and field) at both series meetings and at the Final. As always, prize money is entirely gender-equal, with exactly the same rates for male and female athletes in each discipline.

As announced in September, the new season will see a total of US$9,240,000 paid out in prize money, the highest total pot in the series’ history.

Including promotional fees for top athletes, a total of around US$18million will be paid to athletes in total over the course of the 2025 season. As every year and in addition, around US$6million will be invested in athlete services such as travel and transport, accommodation and medical and physio provision.
