Women's 100m - Preliminary Round - Jung delights host nation's fans when progressing from prelim

27 August 2011Daegu, Korea - Mye-lim Jung delighted the host nation's supporters when moving into the first round of the women's 100 metres with the third fastest time in the preliminary round.


The 24-year-old who is also a talented hurdler and Korean champion in both events, later on Saturday with 17 other sprinters will face world class opposition after her victory in a time of 11.90.


Jung was one of 31 athletes who competed in the preliminary round, now designated for those not holding the pre-championship 'B' standard.


Unfortunately 19-year-old Youlia Camera of Guinea who came into the meeting with no known form had the disappointment of being disqualified in the first heat of the morning.
