There is no greater priority for the IAAF right now than to get to the truth of the allegations that have been made against the sport. These particular facts were made public in December 2015 and relate to allegations of a breach of the IAAF Code of Ethics.
The IAAF welcomes these investigations by the Ethics Board and investigator Sir Anthony Hooper and thanks them for the difficult and hard work they continue to undertake on behalf of the sport and the organisation.
As the Ethics Board statement says, each of the persons provisionally suspended ‘enjoys the presumption of innocence until the outcome of the investigation and the determination of disciplinary charges, if any, brought against them’. It is therefore important that we let these investigations take their course without further comment.
Réaction de l'IAAF au Communiqué de la Commission d’éthique
Il n'est aucune priorité plus grande actuellement pour l'IAAF que d'établir la vérité à propos des allégations portées à l'encontre de son sport. Les éléments dont il est question ici, rendus publics en décembre 2015, ont trait à des allégations d'une violation du Code d'éthique de l'IAAF.
L'IAAF est reconnaissante de ces investigations, menées par la Commission d’éthique, sous la houlette de Sir Anthony Hooper, et les remercie pour le travail exigeant et difficile qu'ils continuent à entreprendre pour le compte du sport et de l'instance.
Comme le rappelle le Communiqué de la Commission d'éthique, chacune des personnes suspendues à titre provisoire "jouit de la présomption d'innocence jusqu'à la conclusion de l'investigation et la détermination des mesures disciplinaires, s'il devait y en avoir, qui leur seraient applicables." Il est de fait important que nous laissions ces investigations poursuivre leurs cours sans commentaires supplémentaires.
