Décastar, a member of the annual IAAF Combined Events Challenge, is located in Talence, in the department of the Gironde in France. Décastar was established in 1976 and, after further editions in 1978 and 1984, has been held annually since 1986 onwards. 1996 Olympic champion Dan O'Brien set a world record in the decathlon at the 1992 edition and 2017 World champion Kevin Mayer repeated that feat. On the women’s side, at the 2004 edition, Marie Collonvillé set the women’s world record in the rarely competed women’s Decathlon.
