World Athletics has today opened public tenders for a results and statistical service.
The primary focus of the service will be on results processing, which involves collecting, editing and managing competition data for a vast number of athletes and events. It also includes competitions management, records management, athlete management, rankings management and more.
Other key services include managing competitions and records, handling doping disqualifications, maintaining world rankings, and supporting various athletics events like the Diamond League and European Athletics.
Approximately 1.2 million results are processed by World Athletics annually from about 10,000 competitions, involving 170,000 athletes.
World Athletics is issuing a request for proposal (RFP) to select, through a formal process, a supplier for results and statistical services. The document provides information and clarification on how the process will be conducted, how respondents should present their proposals, and the requirements and conditions to which proposals will be subject.
The schedule of the RFP outlines a six-week bidding process leading to presentations in mid-April and the announcement of a preferred partner in May. The contract will commence on 1 January 2026.
