Tanja Damaske (GER) first over 70m since 1996
Berlin 5 July. 26 year old Tanja Damaske has set a new season's best in the women's javelin throw during the German National Championships in Berlin.
Her 70.10m throw was the best recorded since 1996. The previous best mark for the 1998 season belonged to Trine Hattestad, with a throw of 66.96m in Malmö, Sweden, on 6 June
