Double European sprint champion Dafne Schippers will contest the 60m at the IAAF Indoor Permit meeting in Karlsruhe on 31 January.

The Dutch all-rounder competed in the 2014 edition of the Karlsruhe meeting, finishing fourth in 7.24 behind German winner Verena Sailer. But this time the heptathlete will pose a bigger threat, having placed more of an emphasis on sprinting in her preparations for 2015.

Sailer will also line up for the 60m in Karlsruhe next month and she currently has a 5-1 advantage over Schippers in their head-to-head record.

Both athletes will also be pleased to hear that the track that had been used at the 2013 European Indoor Championships in Gothenberg – where Schippers and Sailer set their respective PBs of 7.14 and 7.12 – is being moved to Karlsruhe.

Also announced for the Karlsruhe meeting is world pole vault champion Raphael Holzdeppe.
