Olympic 100m champion Noah Lyles has been announced for the Ostrava Golden Spike, where the US sprinter is set to contest the 150m at the World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting on 16 June.
Lyles – who will be making his first appearance at the Czech meeting – is aiming to break the world best for the distance of 14.92 which was set recently by Kishane Thompson, the Jamaican who finished second to Lyles in the 2024 Olympic 100m final.
The meeting will also welcome back Gianmarco Tamberi, the 2021 Olympic and 2023 world champion. The Italian high jumper won in Ostrava in 2022 and is set to return for his fourth appearance at the meeting, where he is due to face Czech high jumper Jan Štefela.
Other athletes announced for Ostrava include 100m hurdlers Tobi Amusan, Devynne Charlton and Nadine Visser, pole vaulters Emmanouil Karalis and Katie Moon, 1000m hopeful Josh Hoey and European silver medallist Mohammed Attaoui, plus javelin throwers Anderson Peters and Adriana Vilagos.
Home athletes Karolína Maňasová, Lurdes Gloria Manuel, Amálie Švábíková, Tomáš Staněk and Nikola Ogrodníková are also among those named in the line-up.
