Our approach to social impact

 

The team at the World Athletics Indoor Championships Glasgow 24 is striving to set a new benchmark for major sport event delivery in Scotland by harnessing the power of the number one Olympic sport and leaving a legacy that will benefit Glasgow, Scotland and World Athletics’ community for years to come.

 

We are proud to be hosting a global event with a local focus, with our strategy and actions aligned to the World Athletics social responsibility programme: Athletics for a Better World.

 

We aim to create the best possible environment to facilitate extraordinary sporting moments that will captivate and inspire both the international athletics community and our nation. At the same time, we are committed to working with partners to deliver positive social impacts by empowering local communities and promoting inclusion, equality, and diversity. We are also working hard to minimise our environmental impact through sustainable practices in all our endeavours. 

 

We firmly believe that all positive changes can contribute to a lasting impact, so we are encouraging all spectators and stakeholders to adopt a healthy and sustainable approach to their experience at the event, no matter how small their action or contribution to this goal may be.
