The World Athletics U20 Championships (WU20) is designed for the youth, to inspire the youth. The WU20 is the first platform for the best junior athletes to compete for their nations on the world stage, and it is where the rising stars of athletics emerge.
The WU20 is a biennial event and is held over five-days. The event attracts around 1,350 athletes from over 130 nations, as junior Women and Men compete across 45 events (22 for men, 22 for women and 1 mixed relay)
The WU20 encourages the next generation of top athletes, but it can also be a powerful catalyst to motivate young people to become fitter and healthier, as well as offering work experience and volunteer opportunities to a wide range of young people.
