New features have been launched today (23) inside the Museum of World Athletics (MOWA).

Most strikingly, World Athletics Official Partner ASICS has opened a display in the central area of MOWA’s Reception Hall to mark the forthcoming World Athletics Championships Oregon22 (15-24 July).

Collector’s Cards

The first limited-edition series of MOWA Collector’s Cards has been launched on the MOWA platform today.

The 40 individually designed and numbered cards each depict an artefact that has either been donated or loaned to the museum’s collection.

Athletes whose artefacts are featured in the series include legends such as Jesse Owens, Fanny Blankers-Koen and Emil Zatopek, and modern greats like Valerie Adams, Usain Bolt and Allyson Felix.

The cards, which are a give-away item, can be ordered free of charge by anyone with a login to MOWA or can be collected in person from the MOWA exhibition stands in Eugene or Portland during the World Athletics Championships Oregon22.

Improved museum navigation

Visitors who enter the online virtual space of MOWA can now explore the museum’s 3D platform through a new freeform movement system.

The new navigation lets visitors move through the environment by clicking on the floor and loads quicker than the previous navigation, giving an increased sense of momentum.

This will allow visitors to explore MOWA in a way that feels more natural and more relevant to where they want to go, while also helping users on slower connections.
