Family Fun During WCH Oregon22

There is fun for the whole family happening during the World Athletics Championships Oregon22! Below are a few recommended youth and family activities to do in the venue and in the surrounding area in the city of Eugene July 14-24.

 

The World Wide Welcome Finale at the Opening Session

July 15 9am-1:30pm (gates open 7:30am)

Hayward Field, event ticket required

Youth groups and families from across Oregon are encouraged to offically welcome the world to WCH Oregon22 at the opening session on July 15! Be a part of an opening session to remeber and enjoy special activies for youth, including the grand final of the World Wide Welcome Youth Relay presented by The Daily Mile. Youth groups can apply to participate here. Individual families can purchase tickets to attend here (Day 1 Morning Session).

 

Making Tracks Zone 

July 15-23 during morning and evening sessions of competion

Hayward Field, event ticket required

If you are attending a session of the championships, make sure to check out the Making Tracks Zone on the southern concourse of Hayward Field. The space will provide fun activities and learning opportunites for kids of all ages and occasional special guests. The Making Tracks Zone will be open during all morning sessions of competition and during evening sessions July 15-23 until 7:30pm. 

 

Marathon Cheer Squad

July 17 and 18, 5:30-9:30am

Asics Fan Festival near Marathon Start/Finish, no ticket needed

On July 17 and July 18, visit us bright and early in the ASICS Fan Festival located on the north side of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, steps away from the marathon start and finish. Find Flags, signs, and fun energy to help you cheer as the marathon runners take to the streets of Eugene and Springfield. The marathon and racewalk events begin and end outside Autzen Stadium and are free to watch.

The ASCIS Uplift Oregon 5k

July 17, 6am

near Marathon Start/Finish, race pre-registration required

Those 16 or older can also run in the ASICS Uplift 5K on July 17.  5K Runners will have the chance to race in the footsteps of WCH Oregon22 competitors on the same course during the men’s marathon! Register for the uplift 5K here.

Youth ages 16 and 17 can register for FREE using promo code WCH22EUGENE and adult family members can register with a 20% discount using promo code WCHOREGON20.
