A total of 55 athletes will represent the USA at the inaugural IAAF World Relays in Nassau, The Bahamas, on 24-25 May as the relays powerhouse will field squads in all events.
The men’s and women’s 4x400m teams are especially impressive, with 2013 world champions Tony McQuay, LaShawn Merritt and David Verburg in the pool, as well as Olympic triple jump champion Christian Taylor, an accomplished 400m runner during his college years, NCAA champion Torrin Lawrence and Clayton Parros, who was a member of the 4x400m pool at the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Sopot, Poland.
On the women’s side, Olympic gold medallists Sanya Richards-Ross, Natasha Hastings and Dee Dee Trotter are in the relay team, as well as two-time world medallists Joanna Atkins, Jessica Beard and Monica Hargrove.
