World Athletics is dedicated to the global growth and development of Athletics, and delivery of World Athletics’ vision “to use the power and accessibility of athletics and our athletes to create a healthier and fitter world”.
This commitment is brought to life through a range of innovative programmes and activities aligned with the World Plan for Athletics 2022-2030 and the Pioneering Change Strategy 2024-2027. These strategic initiatives set out the pillars for growth, which centre on more participation, more people, more fans and more partnerships.
Development and education programmes are central to increasing participation at all levels, with a strong focus on grassroots and Kids’ Athletics. These initiatives support the recruitment and ongoing development of volunteers, coaches, officials, and administrators through a blend of in-person training and accessible online learning via our Education Hub.
To further support these goals, World Athletics provides financial grants, services, and tailored support to our 214 Member Federations and six Area Associations, ensuring a strong foundation for the continued growth of athletics worldwide.
