When the World Athletics Road Running Championships Copenhagen 26 comes to Denmark on September 19-20, 2026, it will be an epic running celebration that you don’t want to miss.

Up to 65,000 runners will be chasing the world’s elite across the three championship distances: Half Marathon, 5K, and One Mile.

This is your chance to be part of what could become the biggest participant event ever held on Danish soil and in World Athletics history.

5K and One Mile: Sign up now

Everyone can join the 5K and One Mile World Championships, taking place in Copenhagen on Saturday, September 19, 2026. These are two short, fast, and thrilling courses where you’ll line up right behind the world’s fastest runners.

You’ll be cheered on by an energetic crowd and lifted all the way to the finish line by great entertainment and an unforgettable atmosphere. The carefully designed course guarantees an incredible running experience.

Half marathon: The lottery is closed

 

The Half Marathon entries were distributed through a lottery. 
From March 6 to March 20 the lottery was open. The lottery ensures that everyone has a fair and equal chance to secure a spot.


Later in 2025, a resale platform will be launched for transferring race entries.
