As a volunteer you will:
• Be at the centre of the action: Volunteers will play a key role in the delivery of all aspects of the WICGlasgow24, from Event Operations to Sport Operations and Spectator Experience – see Roles section for details.

Our mission is to recruit, train and inspire an inclusive and diverse volunteer workforce who will step up to the mark and have a positive impact on the WICGlasgow24.
WICGlasgow24 volunteering roles will be open to all applicants who meet the following eligibility criteria:
• Applicants must be 16 years of age as of 1 January 2024. Volunteers under the age of 18 years will be restricted to roles and shift times appropriate for their age.
• Applicants must have the right to volunteer in the UK.
• Applicants must be able to communicate in English or British Sign Language (although English does not have to be their first language).
• Applicants must be available between 23 February - 4 March 2024 and able to complete a minimum of four shifts (dependent on the role). Some opportunities will start earlier.
• Applicants must attend training - likely to be one training day in February 2024.
The WICGlasgow24 volunteer programme is committed to creating exciting opportunities for first-time volunteers to get involved in a major international sports event.
Please note: When assessing and selecting volunteers we will be seeking a proportion of volunteers who are already engaged with the sport of athletics in some form.
We are committed to ensuring that social inclusion is at the heart of our volunteer programme for WICGlasgow24.
There are a broad range of volunteer roles available for WICGlasgow24 and many of these can be adjusted to successful volunteers’ specific requirements. Please review the volunteer role descriptions shared on our “Roles” page to see which roles will be most suitable.
There will be an opportunity in the application form to note any access requirements which should be taken into consideration for selection activity attendance and volunteer role allocation.
Please note, due to the nature of the responsibilities involved, there are some roles which may not be suitable for volunteers with specific types of access requirements.
Please let us know if you will be volunteering with your Support Worker/Personal Assistant so we can put the necessary arrangements in place and discuss with you both the best way to support you.
